A balanced and minimalist sofa

The CH402 sofa from 1990 by Hans J. Wegner has a modern design that is both minimalist and comfortable. The construction cleverly conceals the mechanisms by which the upholstered fabric is attached to the frame with a slender element of stainless steel, thus creating an original design feature out of a functional necessity. The CH402 sofa’s visionary and simple design and solid wood interior frame are crafted for durability. The sofa is still in use at Copenhagen Airport to this day and is part of the wider Kastrup Series, which also includes a lounge chair and two larger sofa options. All models in the Kastrup Series are available upholstered in fabric or leather and are completed with a characteristic stainless-steel angled cover plate on each side.
