The Sofie Bar Stool is part of Sika-Design’s ‘Affaire collection’ which is a unique selection of charming bistro and cafe furniture inspired by both Sika-Design’s own designs from the 1950s and the delightful cafe chairs seen throughout Paris.
Originally designed for brasseries, cafés and restaurants, the Sofie Bar Stool, is extremely comfortable. A striking Stool it will add a delightful element to many an interior space. Whilst the Stool is made for indoor use it is perfect for outdoor bars in undercover areas but should not be exposed to rain and moisture.
The Sofie Bar Stool is handmade in sustainable Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker makers. The seat, back and arms are woven with the high quality Sika-Design ArtFibre® which is available in a range of colours. ArtFibre consists of artificial fibres made from maintenance free poly-ethylene that can withstand the sun’s UV radiation. The combination of rattan and ArtFibre gives the wicker furniture a unique strength, flexibility and comfort.
Sika-Design uses carefully selected rattan for furniture production to ensure the highest quality. Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo which is hollow, rattan is a solid material. Due to the remarkably strong and indestructible nature of rattan, many pieces are destined to last for generations.

Maintenance: due to the rattan frame, the furniture needs to be kept dry, and can only be used outdoors in covered areas. Rattan and Sika-Design ArtFibre® require no maintenance but can be wiped with a lightly dampened cloth.
